BIEMH 2024

BIEMH is about to hold its 31st edition in Bilbao, Spain and programming will run for five full days in the middle of June. The international trade fair is traditionally held in mid- to late May, but the pandemic has made some changes. BIEMH is meant for a professional audience only and the work hours are set for 09:30 in the morning until 18:00 in the afternoon. Be sure to check the schedule for any changes. Bilbao Exhibition Centre and AFM organise the exhibition at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre every two years in close collaboration with AIMHE. The Bilbao Exhibition Centre has a terrific location, some 13 km from Bilbao airport and 2 km from the ferry. If you’re staying in Barakaldo, you can catch the city bus KBus. In Bilbao, there’s Line 3136 Bizkaibus and metro line 2 from the “Ansio” station, which takes you directly to the exhibition centre.

As we’ve already touched upon, BIEMH is a leading business platform in Europe and this is very clearly seen in the numbers. The last physical edition had over 1750 international exhibitors on the show floor and together they attracted an audience that reached 42,400 trade visitors. Together they generated 136,000 business contacts, which is a strong reason why you should attend. It’s a proven way to generate new business in a meaningful way. Geographically, there were 61 countries represented at BIEMH. The trade fair is of great interest to markets such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, China, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Taiwan and Turkey, which are recognized as leaders on a global level. It’s also important to note that trade visitors come from all kinds of professional backgrounds – automotive, aerospace, aeronautics, ancillary, capital goods, metal construction, energy generation, domestic appliance, household goods, railway, cutting & plate-work subcontracting, mould & die, gas & oil industry.

BIEMH Edition 2022

The 2022 edition of BIEMH was a live event that commemorated the return of the trade show and industry to face-to-face editions. It was hosted at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) from June 13 to June 17, 2022. The venue implemented rigorous Covid-19 safety precautions, including social distancing and the compulsory use of face masks. The exhibition attracted 35,000 visitors from 52 countries who examined the over 3,400 displayed items of over 1,400 exhibitors from 28 countries. In addition,  300 invited leading buyers attended the event.
