It’s a long-running Spanish event, which started back in 1963, and has been shaping how Spain camps and travels in the great outdoors. Caravaning 2023
Caravaning 2023 will take place as a live trade fair from October 7th to October 15th, 2023. The event will be held at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, which will include Covid-19 safety precautions such as social distancing. Such precautions will help in the protection of participants' health and well-being. Attendees should be aware that, because of the instated travel restrictions, they will be required to provide 3G entry papers upon arrival in Spain.

Every two years, Caravaning makes a stop in Barcelona, Spain for a grand total of nine days and creates a wholesome and dynamic environment for trade visitors and the general public alike. The international trade fair is usually held in October at the Fira Barcelona Gran Vía. Fira de Barcelona organises the event with the generous support of ASEICAR (Spanish Association of Caravaning Industry and Commerce) and GREMCAR (Guild of Caravaning Entrepreneurs of Catalonia). Work hours are set for 11:00 am – 07:00 pm on weekdays and 10:00 am – 08:00 pm on weekends. The only exception is Sunday, which ends an hour earlier at 07:00 pm. Fira Barcelona Gran Vía is well connected to public transport. You have direct metro connections from the airport and a good system of metro lines linking you to the rest of the city. Other options include the Generalitat Railway Network and the H12, 79, 65, 46, V3 and H16 bus lines.
- One of the most popular areas at Caravaning is Travelvaning organised by the magazine Furgosfera. It’s a place where travelers and professionals can share their travel experiences and it’s a perfect place to learn a lot by listening to the talks by specialists in the camper world. But the program also includes live music, DJs and a lot more fun events.
- Caravaning creates a very family-friendly place. A clear example of this is the Caravaning Kids section, which consists of several facilities for kids to play like the Pump Truck and the Wood Circuit. These installations promote active fun and keep kids occupied, while the parents are out shopping.
Caravaning forms a very active and engaged community, which in previous years has reached over 55,000 visitors as a whole. The trade fair truly represents the Spanish marker. The exhibition halls are home to 130 exhibitors, who fill out every single interest and taste – campers, overland, motorhomes, beach, country and city. More than 600 vehicles were showcased and available for visitors to take out for a test drive at the demo areas. Although open to industry professionals, the bulk of visitors are young people, families and senior couples, who are interested in the van life and want to plan their next vacation. Some 41% of all visitors attend with the goal to research the market and make a purchase. In that sense, it’s perfect for exhibitors to boost sales numbers and receive immediate feedback from their target audience.
Caravaning 2021
Caravaning 2021 was held between 16.10.2021 and 24.10.2021. The event took place as a face-to-face exhibition at the Fira de Barcelona in Spain. The event location included the most recent Covid-19 prevention measures, such as social distancing. The event attracted over 60,000 attendees, according to the organisers.
Caravaning 2023
Caravaning 2023 surpassed the attendance rate of the event's previous editions. It received more than 66,000 attendees during its hosting between 07.10.2023 and 15.10.2023. It did not feature Covid-19 safety measures due to the removal of the country's pandemic-related restrictions.
