IBA 2025
The baking and confectionary industry will not have to wait another three years for another edition of IBA. The popular baking trade fair will run as planned from 18.05.2025 to 22.05.2025 at the Messe Munich in Munich, Germany. The venue will not feature health and safety protocols due to the removal of the country's pandemic-related restrictions.

IBA is organised by GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH and its home is usually at the Messe München in Munich, Germany. It has been held every three years since 1949, with the last one having taken place in 2018—so you can be sure that this is a high-quality trade fair and that everything you find here is authentic, effective, and of sterling make.
IBA normally goes on for six days, although the 2021 edition will be held for five so that participants have more high-impact takeaways, according to organisers. Opening time for all five days is at 9:30am and closing time for the first four days is 6:00pm. Closing time on the last day of IBA is at 5:00pm. As for getting there, be at ease when traveling to Messe München, whether by car or public transport. The grounds are quickly accessible through the U2 line of the metro. There are suburban trains that also make stops there.
What You Can Expect as an Exhibitor
- IBA prides itself on being “the trade fair for champions.” This is evident in its no less than three onsite competitions: the 5th German Championship of Master Bakers, the IBA-UIBC-Cup of Bakers, and the UIBC Junior Championship of World Confectioners.
- There is also an industry awards ceremony, where exhibitors get a chance to win the following awards: the IBA Award for amazing innovations in manufacturing for industrial and line-orientated baked goods; the DBZ IBA trophy, which is the innovation prize for baking; and the Baker Maker Award, which is given to small businesses with innovative concepts for training newcomers.
- Dozens of lectures and training sessions await both the master baker and the baker just learning to hone their craft.
- In 2021, IBA is launching IBA Connecting Experts, which seeks to bridge the knowledge transfer gap created by the cancellation of many industry events in 2020. While it will first be open digitally, there will be an onsite launch of the program at the trade fair itself.
IBA 2018 drew a whopping 77,000 visitors and 1,373 exhibitors from all over the world! A comparison of trends from previous editions shows that there will be an explosion of growth of more than 5% for the 2021 edition. The IBA trade fair as a whole is owned by the Zentralverband des Deutschen Bäckerhandwerks e.V. (German Bakers‘ Confederation) and sponsored by UIBC, Deutscher Konditorenbund (German Association of Confectioners), and Verband Deutscher Großbäckereien e.V. (German Federation of Plant Bakeries).

IBA 2023
IBA 2023 was a live trade fair hosted in Messe Munich between the dates 22.10.2023 and 26.10.2023. It did not feature Covid-19 safety measures due to the removal of the country's pandemic-related restrictions. IBA 2023 featured 1,073 exhibitors from 46 countries and 57,000 visitors from 150 nations.
