The German Firefighting Convention is a leading sub-event for German fire departments. It consists of a series of micro-events that focus on various topics. The FireFit Championships are held on all six event days. The hostings take place between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. The open-air area in front of the East Entrance stairs serves as the hosting location. Attendees can observe the qualification tests during the first four event days. These determine who will compete in the finals, which take place in the last two days. Each of the hosting days features a medal ceremony that honours the winners. Three formats are available for firefighters seeking to take part. These include relay team, individual, and tandem. Five trials determine the most skilled firefighters. This includes Hose Hoist and Stair Descent, as well as Victim Rescue. It also includes Forcible Entry, Run and Hose Advance, and Stair Climb.

It furthermore features rescuing trapped victims using hydraulic equipment. Furthermore, among the scenarios is handling foam contamination alarms and post-respiratory rescue sequences. How to open doors and windows during hazardous building entrapment is also featured. The afternoon schedule features rescuing a person with severe burns. Furthermore, it incorporates extricating a child from a sandpit or a person from under a bus.

Attendees can also improve their skills by participating in the Holmatro Rescue Challenge. It features 29 teams competing to extricate a trapped person from a car in 20 minutes. Each of the 29 teams is examined by an expert panel of international experts. A prize is awarded to the three most successful teams. The total value of the prizes is 50 000 euros. Each team will be given instructions on how to use the provided equipment before they begin. They will also be given instructions on how to free imprisoned people.
